Full Version: 10dB drop at 16kHz with Lame

If you do a spectrum analysis of a sample of a Lame 3.90.3 preset extreme encoded song and compare it with the original I find a 10dB drop at 16kHz. Why and is this significant?

It's a lossy encoder. It throws away stuff. Likely, the sounds at 16kHz are masked by other sounds.
