You must have been using an old version of foo_midi.

Opusinfo reports a "playback gain" of -12.6797 dB. Fb2k reports an album gain of -7.68 dB. I don't see the value 5 anywhere. Where does it come from?

The proposed standard for Opus is R128 gain with a reference level of -23 LUFS. The closest foobar2000 equivalent is to apply a 5 dB offset, since foobar2000 uses an R128 based scanner with a reference level of -18 LUFS, to produce levels similar to ReplayGain.

Sorry I'm not sure if I'm dumb or if there is something wrong with the download link on the website.

When I tried to download 1.1.4a, I got a file whose size is about 3kb and doesn't seem to work....

For whatever it’s worth, I can’t reproduce your problem; I just downloaded a 3.2 MB foobar2000_v1.1.14a.exe without problems, using Safari 5.1.7.

What browser are you using? What is the resulting file called, including its extension? Are you using any particular options (be they in your browser, Windows, an antivirus… etc.) that might affect downloads? Is there anything else that you think might be relevant?

If anyone else has this problem, please report it with the same sort of information.

I also have the problem bryantalent has. My browser is Firefox 14.0.1 on Windows Vista. When I click the "foobar2000 v1.1.14a" link in the page "http://www.foobar2000.org/download", it showed the "Thank you for downloading foobar2000" for half a second and automatically redirected me to the homepage of Foobar2000.

However I don't have this issue on my other machine, running the same configuration/addons of Firefox 14.0.1 on Windows 7.

Edit: It seems that the issue is fixed for me. Don't really know why or how, but thanks anyway.

Did it send you anything at all, such as a small file like bryantalent got?

Glad it seems to be working now, at least for you, so we’ll wait and see how other users get on.

There seems to be a bug with the internal Opus decoder: Whenever I convert to WAV the resulting file is way too quiet. There's no processing switched between, and deactivating RG doesn't help either.

I'm using chrome right now, and it seems like that the problem persists. I also tried with firefox, same thing happened....

For chrome i got a file named exactly as the real exe file, but for firefox I got an .htm file.

Let me try with IE...

I think I know whats going on now, since I got the file successfully downloaded with IE.

Cuz the link on the download page is something ending with .exe so my downloader tool recognized it as a file while it actually is a webpage that directs me to the file. So neither with the downloader nor "save link as" would  be able to retrieve the file through that link..

Ah, OK. Yes, the site uses dynamically generated links to serve downloads, instead of static links, I imagine because the latter would leave open the possibility of leeching.

As you’ve found, that’s not a problem if one requests the download normally, rather than using an intermediate download manager. So, the solution is don’t use one.
