Wrapping DTS as WAV

Hi there,

Could anyone tell me how to wrap a .DTS file as a .WAV (or .AIFF) so it can be opened in audio programs such as iTunes please?

I don't wish to transcode, just to convert it so it just thinks it's a two-channel 16-bit stereo file... I know it'll play as white noise but I can output it via the optical port to my receiver.

[edit: I read elsewhere about dts2wav but that didn't work. I'm assuming the file I have is 48kHz because dts2wav apparently only works with 44.1kHz. Will ffmpeg do the trick? I have no idea how to install it though!]

I am on a Mac but I have XP too.

It just needs a 16 bit stereo PCM WAV header. It might be that the DTS file also needs to be packed as 14 bit in 16 bit, with the 2 MSB 0. That is used to prevent the white noise from killing your speakers or scaring you or whatever.

I think what you want to use is spdifconvert.py.
