Yeah, I've added yet another proper version detector.
Full-quoting makes you scroll past the same junk over and over.

@OP: Does your component support proxy server? I'm behind a proxy and I get
Code: [Select]
[Autoupdate] I/O error: Could not connect to host
when I try to use this component.

Uses foobar2000 settings from Preferences > Networking.

I see, added comparator for another version format.

feature request: it would be nice if the update window didn't kick me out of a full screen game while playing.

Small bug : version detection with EsPlaylist.

Screenshot from the problem :

Also it would be great to have an option to ignore beta or alpha versions.

Hmm yes, that sucks.

Mostly caused only by the shaddy "community" data source...

Code: [Select]
[Autoupdate] I/O error: Could not connect to host
I have the same error
Is it really "Could not connect to host"? At least I see multiple successful requests from your IP address on the server, even today at 20:23 CET etc., so I don't know, maybe something else is interfering on the way.

Got this
Code: [Select]
[Autoupdate] I/O error: Bad Request (400)
today, but it went fine afterward. Server was being maintained I guess.

foo_autoupdate

There is an error logged from your IP address, the request got mangled somewhere on the way or whatever. There are a few such cases each day...

EsPlaylist version checking is still problematic:

[Autoupdate] I/O error: Invalid content signature.

any idea what this means? Yirka will you take over the other updater or implement it into yours or further your plugin in light of the recent development?

Maybe the EsPlaylist author should consider putting the version number into the component version field instead of adding it to the component name field. That would make it easier for foo_autoupdate - or even *gasp* users.

I can see the proper component version in Peferences->Components page.
so, I'm not sure but version info at DECARE_COMPONENT_VERSION macro seems to be correct.

Sorry about the occasional nonsensical versions and similar problems - again, it's caused by the fact that the data are collected from a human-generated textual log at the xrea.jp site and deducing component name and version from that with all the variance is not quite easy. The relevant regex is already ugly enough... /^(.*?) v?((?:[0-9]+\.)*[0-9a-z]+(?: beta ?\d+| dbg| alpha| beta| prebeta|\(prebeta\))?|\d+-\d+-\d+|\d+/\d+/\d+)$/i
Information about components which are in the official component repository are fine 100% (AFAIK), contain more information etc.

Also as you might have been noticed (I hope you were! ), I released version 1 of the component today, featuring mostly fixes for the most annoying problems people have encountered - see the website for details.

Regarding further development, there are no big plans for the same reason as stated in the foo_component_manager thread. But as I already said, I'm not going to pull it any time soon either. The whole system has the advantage that it works even without me caring - for the last month or so, I didn't really have much time to do anything with it, yet it happily reported updates for me. And I guess it did for you too.
