Probably Peter forgot, 'cause no doubt WavPack is part of foo_input_std now, it's just not listed under components.....

how do you utlize the hyrbrid (lossy) mode in .8x? i've tried using that option and it encodes the same file sizes as lossless.

I would:
  • Select the "Commandline Encoder: WavPack" preset from the Diskwriter config
  • Click "Duplicate" to make a copy (optional)
  • Click "Edit" to edit the preset
  • Change "Parameters" to "-b384xc - %d" *
  • Change "Display name" to "WavPack Hybrid (384kbps with correction file)" *
  • Hit "OK"

* Change "-b384xc" to your preferred hybrid switch combo, and change "Display name" accordingly.

foo_input_std will now handle MP4, HTTP Reading, Monkey's Audio, FLAC, and WavPack - as well as the usual MP1/2/3, MPC, AIFF, WAV, etc.

If you take a look at Preferences > Components (root) it lists those decoders in foo_input_std.  IIRC this is down to foobar 0.9's new functionailty to have numerous components in one DLL.

Yes, I know. That's where I looked (in beta 7), and "WavPack decoding" is not mentioned. But so neither are "Ogg Vorbis decoding" and I know both are buildtin in foo_input_std.

Ah, I see.  Sorry, I haven't got around to installing beta 7 on this PC.

Curious that it has disappeared from the Components list - I would have thought the listing would be automatic from the source.

Edit: Just updated and I see what you mean.  All others that were there (in beta 6) are still there I think.  It's still curious, especially considering Ogg decoder is not listed also.

Actually, I don't think it ever was. I think Ogg Vorbis, MusePack, mp1/2/3, wav, aiff and such are part of "Standard input array" and not listed as such. But WavPack decoding used to be listed.

Yes, you're right.  I'm just confusing myself now.

Standard input array accounts for all other unmentioned, inclding Ogg.

FLAC and Monkey's Audio are distinct though, so presumably WavPack should be... if not I'm not sure what that suggests.
