Iriver Firmware V2.10 Is Out!

Do you own a Sonicblue RioVolt or an iRiver ChromeX / SlimX? If so, listen up! Earlier today, iRiver released v2.10 of their firmware. As with most other updates of theirs, the latest one fixes existing bugs and adds new features to their already-excellent MP3 / CD players. For official download links as well as a change list, visit this page here and click on the appropriate link for your model of iRiver hardware.

For example, if you own a SlimX and you live in North America, the correct page for you to download from would be here.

If you have any doubts as to which firmware you're supposed to use, DO NOT flash it before getting your questions answered. Flashing the wrong firmware on your hardware can have severe results!

As you may have noticed, there's still no Ogg Vorbis support, but we can all hope, right?  B)

On the IRiver userforum is a discussion going on about the ugly mp3 decoding 'blip' bug on most of IRiver's portable players. Many users are very disappointed that this one hasn't been adressed in the latest firmware.
Gabriel posted a (link to a ) sample mp3 file there that can show the effect in a reproducable manner (a least on my player IMP250 firmware 2.10).
Perhaps we have some experts here that could give a clue to pinpoint the problem, this to persuade IRiver to fix it finally.
