Verifying my previous rips (500+) with AccurateRip (Mac)

Hey everyone,

I recently started noticing that a few of my rips (all made using iTunes with error correct on and coded to ALAC) have a few pops and crackles, presumably because of scratches or drive problems. I've decided to rip with XLD from now on, but I'm looking for a way to check my existing collection for consistency. Doing it manually just takes too much time, is there any way I can do it automatically? Like analyse a few folders, and give me some indication of those that couldn't be verified, and those that have not-OK tracks.

BTW, the few rips I've checked using XLD all report something like: "Track 08 : OK (v1+v2, confidence 129/182, with different offset)". Why do all of them have different offsets?

Cheers

Presumably because iTunes doesn't use offset correction.  XLD is simply telling you the rip is accurate once you account for that fact.

I can't speak to batch verifying rips.  Sorry.

the only software i know of capable of batch verifying rips is cuetools. unfortunately it's a windows application.

if you don't have access to a windows pc and you have fast internet, you could download a trial version of windows and install it in a virtual machine or through bootcamp.

I heard you can get cuetools to run on linux with mono, though I don't know the details. Since Mac is UNIX based afaik, wouldn't it be possible to set cuetools up under Mac as well?

PerfectTunes (sister product to dbpoweramp) also batch verifies rips with accuraterip. I believe it is windows only too.

Thank you all for the feedback. If there is no Mac alternative, I'll use my father's laptop, or install Windows on a virtual machine.

So XLD can only do one title at a time?  I'd hit up the developer to make an improvement.

I'm nowhere near my Mac now, but if I was I'd also give a try to use XLD together with OSX own automation system or Apple Script or even XLD CLI capabilities.
