Newbie question about eac and itunes

I have finally got EAC set up the way it is instructed on ubernet site.  I have now realized that there seems to be a problem putting my music in itunes.  First off the bit rate is 1400 and something.  I was ripping at 192.  I like the eac but if I can't use it with itunes I don't know how I can load my ipod.  I just want to have perfect rips on my ipod and not all of this hassle.  Can someone direct me in what I am doing here.......

erm... i you sure you are ripping to mp3?

...it's possible you configured the mp3 encoding parameters but are extracting to WAV
