pc sound card

Hi,
Thanks to everybody that helped with my previous question about players/rippers etc.
Now let's try this one.
I have a pc running windows XP Home, SP2. AMD Athlon processor. M'board is a MS7093.
Video Card is ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Series. Audio card is Realtek AC'97.
I use a simple shielded mini plug wire from pc to stereo. A Panasonic SA-XR70 and eventually into a pair of Klipsch RB-25's.
Not necessarily a great system but I like it.
My question is this.
I'd like to install a better sound card. Can't spend a fortune but also don't want to waste money on garbage.
Hope some of can give me ideas.
Thanks,
Diana

Chaintech AV-710 and use the digital out.

Your MS7093 have an S/PDIF coaxial output and your Panasonic SA-XR70 have 2 coaxial inputs...so, you could just use a shielded RCA cable
