Here are the major stops in the fb2k-world:

Documentation

fb2k Wiki (FAQs, how-to's, docs, etc.)
http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Foobar2000

Titleformatting-Reference
http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?ti...ormat_Reference

Unofficial fb2k-manual (english)
http://eolindel.free.fr/foobar0.9/accueil.shtml

Component-descriptions (french)
http://fb2kcomposants.free.fr/fb2k_composants.php5

Community

russian foobar2000 sites
http://foobar2000.h12.ru
foobar2000.ru/
russian foobar2000 forum
http://forum.foobar2000.ru

Appearance

fb2k Formatting Strings (standard UI)
http://pelit.koillismaa.fi/fb2k/index.php

foo_looks main-site(skin support for fb2k)
http://www.barciaonline.com/aural/foobarlo...foobarlooks.htm
foo_looks community links
http://www.btinternet.com/~sean.m.kelly/

Components/Plugins

Official 3rd-party components site
http://pelit.koillismaa.fi/plugins/

kode's Page (components - file-formats, archive-support, OSD, shuffle)
http://www.saunalahti.fi/cse/kode54/index.php

foosion's Page (components - dbsearch, cutnpaste, history, etc.)
http://foosion.foobar2000.org/

Messer's Page (components - freedb-masstagger, streaming with save-function, etc.)
http://members.chello.pl/d.sieradzki/foobar/

Musicmusic's Page (components - columns_ui, textwriter, quicktag, custom sort, panels)
http://music.morbo.org/

Some of the above sites are community-driven(they live from your contribution), so if you can help, then do so.

Feel free to add your own links. Not single components/features please(the plugins-forum is a good place for single components already), to keep this thread uncluttered. I'll try to update this top posting from time to time, to keep it a compact readable summary of the currently most important fb2k-portals(high content-per-link ratio).

foobar2000 Wiki: http://doc.hydrogenaudio.org/wikis/foobar2...r2000/FrontPage
If you can help write it, please sign up and start writing!
Otherwise, go read it before asking your question here in case the answer is there. (If it isn't and you subsequently get a good answer, then add it to the wiki or ask me to if you are unsure how)

hmm, some constructive criticism....

yes, they're indeed "tiny"... so tiny that i barely can read the component-name's letters wink.gif

Works here well, with IE and 1600x1200 resolution tongue.gif Try setting the font size to "medium" (if it is possible in Firebird, iirc it is)

Edit: Works well with Firebird 0.7 also.

umm, yes - but why should i increase my fontsize just because a single page uses a very small font, but every other page i visit looks okay? ;-)

Off course i know there are ways how -i- can read the page properly.... but i wasn't commenting on the site because i've got a problem with it, but to give some feedback on what could be improved.

- Lyx

EDIT: my font settings are currently set to the standard values which firebird uses(i didn't change anything to them).

It was setup to 70% of original size. You must have tiny fonts setup there wink.gif
Is it better now?

hmm, nope...... ah, maybe i didn't explain it that good.

I didn't mean the text which i quoted - but the file-list at the top of the page.

As i mentioned already, i don't have any "font setup" - i'm using the default settings of firebird, so other users who use FB 0.7 at 1024x768 may have the same prob.

What about the Collaborative FB2K Documentation Project thread? Wouldn't it be good to include it here, at least until all or most of the information in there has been ported to the wiki?

I suppose. I've been too busy with my courseload to do much aside from study, and the few times I do have spare time I hardly feel creative or inclined to work on the wiki.

There's plenty of information there for people to port over to the wiki; anyone can do it if they're so inclined. I can't presently, otherwise it'd be me doing it.

It was intended to be a stopgap measure until the wiki arrived anyhow, so....

If you have some free time and want to help foobar, please copy and paste stuff from that thread to the wiki. There'll be a little re-formatting needed, though.

QUOTE (Jan S. @ Dec 16 2003, 11:57 PM)
http://pelit.koillismaa.fi/plugins/ should now unofficially be considered the official foobar 3rd party page. I hope authors will take the time to support this and add their components.

If the above new site is to become the semi-official 3rd party plugins page, then IMHO it would be nice to include it here in the sticky post too. smile.gif

It should be appended to the must-know sites for fb2k list, don't you think? Definitely a great job.  cool.gif

I think we need an "International Documentation" category.

French: http://www.foobar2000.net/
French: http://michel.jaumes.free.fr/doc/multimedia/foobar/#sommaire
Japanese: http://foobar.s53.xrea.com/fbwiki/

I don't know if these are all, or if there are any better sites, though.
