Good news: Case recompiled some of his great plugins (FAAC and Monkey's Audio encoder too)
Visit his plugins page:
http://www.saunalahti.fi/cse/foobar2000/?C=M;O=A

Awesome, Case is a champion.

Remaining Legacy 0.7 Diskwriters on my box now are:

FLAC
MP3 (LAME)
Musepack
MP2- tooLame
Ogg Vorbis (GT3b1)

I don't know who used to compile these?
Also, the new Recorder is nice, but I do somewhat miss the userfriendly GUI interface of Case's old foo_record. Would it be possible to get something like that sometimes that works with the 0.8 diskwriters....? (please, please, please)

FLAC
- Case stopped development and removed it from his page even before 0.8 was released. He was tired of dealing with FLAC's API.

MP3 (LAME)
Musepack
- Both used used sperate binaries anyway, so a foo_clienc preset does effectivly the same.

Ogg Vorbis (GT3b1)
- Should be easy to do. Patience.

FLAC and Vorbis GT3b1 (as well as any of those new tuned versions) work with foo_clienc. All you need is a commandline encoder exe. At this point I have very little interest in compiling different versions of foo_vorbisenc since it doesn't actually add any new functionality (after foo_clienc) and will need constant updating with recent progress of vorbis forks.

I believe that MS may have changed the exe that contains the codecs, and the newer release can be found here.  If you want the wmfdist.exe file, then try this page at www.dbpoweramp.com (the actual download link is here).

I like the new diskwriters but still prefer using the STFU/jump to time seekbar on 0.7......... bla bla bla bla......

did some searching on the forums and then finally realised that I could use the STFU.dll on 0.8. Just copied the old .cfg file over and now have the same setup with the nice new diskwriters on the main system.

I found and reported a "graphical bug" in foobar v0.8 that is still present in v0.8.1 beta 1

Quote
I want to report a (little) graphical glitch in "buttons" (in playlist screen)

- Go to "Playback -> Order" (in menu) and click any option (Random, Repeat one, Repeat, Default) then you will see a (little) white vertical line in the "Stop" button.

I hope you can reproduce and fix this little glitch!!!

My system:

- Windows 2000 Pro SP4.
- Celeron 533Mhz 256MB RAM.
- Sound Blaster Live! (Creative drivers)
- Waveout output.
- foobar2000 v0.8 (normal installer)
- No 3rd party plugins.

It only happens when "Lock the toolbars" is checked.

I love foobar2000... Good work

Edit: Still present in foobar2000 v0.8.1 beta 3

I think I have isolated the problem. It is related to the "Order" box in toolbars (Menu, Buttons, Order, Visualization, Seekbar)

Can you try to reproduce it now?

- Disable the "Order" box in toolbars
- Check "Lock the toolbars"
- Close foobar2000
- Open foobar2000
- Choose an option in "Order" (from Playback menu)

Byes
