VBR MP3pro

is it any good?

i havent done any formal listening tests, but it sounds acceptable when the quality bar is moved to 100%.

the file ende dup at 144kbps average, but also had mp3pro information.

i used music match jukebox 7.2 to make the file.

mp3 pro uses a named SBR system that builds up part of the music on the fly, it really distorts the original music a lot, not acceptable for most users so i sugest try vorbis instead, never mind, USE VORBIS INSTEAD OF MP3PRO!!! There are lots of advantages, like mp3 pro has no ds filter to be used along with video, as vorbis already does... and vorbis quality itself beats mp3PRO with hands down

The last I saw, mp3pro used a 22Khz sampling rate and MPEG 2 layer 3 even for 128kbps or 160kbps material, and then "fudged" everything higher with SBR. For the last time, MP3 PRO IS SHIT! Avoid it like the plague--same goes for VQF and WMA! For low bitrates (160 and less), use Ogg Vorbis 1.0. For higher bitrates, use MPC.  This simple formula is a no-brainer.
